How I Regulate Myself as a Highly Sensitive Person
I’m writing this mainly to help myself. It may or may not be useful to you.
For a long time, I thought something was wrong with me.
I get affected easily. I think too much.
For years, I tried to “fix” myself.
This year, I finally found something that worked — not by adding more, but by subtracting.
I subtracted noise. Scrolling. roles. Sugar.
I built a simple habit system: early rising ,strength training and daily creation. Discipline became easy.
But then I went too far.
I started subtracting everything that looked like “proving myself” — my 4 a.m. morning routine, my goals, even my habit system itself.
Only then did I realize something important:
My morning routine was never about discipline. It was a self-regulating system.
For me, it is not optional. It is a basic need.
In this video, I’m sharing how I use early mornings and creating to regulate myself.
The Metaphor That Changed Everything: My Inner Room
I realized my inner world works like a room.
Every day, things enter this room: thoughts, emotions, ideas, market noise, conversations, doubts, insights.
Some people live in a room where very little enters. Their room stays clean without effort. some people can live in a messy room without noticing the mess.
That’s not me.
My room receives a lot. and i see everything.
If I don’t clean it regularly, the room doesn’t just get messy — it becomes unlivable.
I feel irritated. Tired. Overwhelmed.
My clarity disappears.
Life becomes miserable. I run toward distraction, because distraction used to be the fastest painkiller for an unregulated inner room.
But after gaining more awareness through awakening, distraction no longer works.
It doesn’t calm my room. It only makes it messier.
Then I fall into desperation.
So now I understand this clearly:
For me, regulation is cleaning my inner room so I can function well.
So I am building a structure to cope with this change.
Once it is in place, I won’t just function again — I will function better than before.
With more clarity. More meaning. More fulfillment.
my structure now contain 3 pillars.
Morning Routine — Prepare the System (Deep Clean)
Before the world wakes up, I clean first.
This is not about discipline. It’s about preparing my nervous system before new inputs arrive.
In the early morning:
there are fewer interruptions, no new noise yet, my mind is still open and honest.
This is when I do a deep clean.
I read Meditations to ground my mind. I write to clarify my thoughts. I walk to clear emotional residue.
I reset my inner space so the day doesn’t begin on top of yesterday’s mess.
I’ve been waking up around 4 a.m. for six months. Last month, I tried to skip it.
My structure broke.
That’s how I know this routine is not optional for me.
It’s not about productivity. It’s not about discipline.
It’s maintenance — for the smooth running of my system.
YouTubing — Cleaning the Room
recording videos are not creative hobbies for me.
it is regulation tools.
a gental uploading frequency will keep my writing habit alive. it takes up my time so i don’t have time to expose myself to noise.
Writing (deep thinking) is convergent:
i start with many sensations
i narrow
i choose words
i resolve ambiguity
i arrive at coherence
Convergence reduces entropy in my inner room.
That’s why writing feels like cleaning.
Writing is like get rid of the mess and putting furniture back in place.
But writing alone is not enough.
If there is no gentle pressure —
I don’t write.
That’s why YouTube matters.
Recording videos creates:
a deadline
a reason to finish the thought
a boundary that stops endless rumination
a presure to deep thinking.
The pressure to publish is not performance pressure.
It’s structural pressure — the kind that helps me clean, instead of endlessly rearranging clutter in my head.
So for my system to work long term:
writing + recording regularly is necessary
not for views
not for helping others
but to keep my inner room livable
substract the noise
I validate myself by alignment with my structure, not outcomes.
No new input after 8:00 p.m.
Daytime noise is replaced with language learning and creation.
In investing, I trade less and hold more.
I remove performance pressure from YouTube.
I no longer ask, “Is this helpful to others?”
I ask, “Does this help me regulate myself?”
If yes, it stays.
end
I’m not strange. I’m sensitive.
Sensitive means:
high input, deep processing, frequent maintenance.
I don’t clean my inner room because it’s dirty. I clean it because it’s alive and colorful.
My morning routine and creation are not a productivity system. They are my structure.
And once sensitive people build the right structure, sensitivity becomes a superpower — in investing, in learning, and in creating.
