7 Levels of Productivity In the past, I always admired people who could stay consistent. But now, I realize I’m getting better and better at it too. I used to fall into weeks — even months — of unproductive periods. For example, I didn’t write for almost half a year in 2024, when I was affected by the election. Now, I feel I no longer need willpower to push myself. Consistency is becoming natural. To explain, I’ll use two of my own habits — weight training (physical) and writing (mental) — to show how I’ve grown through the 7 Levels of Productivity I’ve discovered. 1. Task-level — Doing things right Focus: Checklists, efficiency, and consistency. Essence: Direct action + repetition. Struggle: The hardest part is simply showing up — it’s easy to get distracted by quick dopamine. Skipping once can open the door to skipping again. Breakthrough: I realized habits don’t depend on motivation — only repetition. When I stopped waiting to “feel like it,” I became consistent. Key: The power of habits — small actions compound into strength over time. Shadow: Stuck here, you risk becoming a box-checker — efficient but empty, mistaking motion for progress. ...
