my first month on nativecamp

i ’ve been using native camp for a whole month, so i took some time last weekend to ponder my experience so far.

my background

what i did in last month

i took 90 hours class, that equal to 216 classes. it is 7.2 class per day. i used anki to add all new words/ idoims with example sentences and review them regularly i read books for 1 hour a day i listened to youtube viedo and audiable books 1 hour per day

gains

confidence

I have built confidence along the way. Before joining NativeCamp, I didn’t dare to speak English with my American friends at the park while our kids attended their soccer class. However, after completing 90 hours of speaking practice on NativeCamp, my confidence has significantly improved, as every teacher has reassured me, “Your English is good.”

As a result, over the past three days, I have spoken with five foreigners in person. Now, whenever I see a foreigner, I approach them without hesitation, eager to showcase the hospitality of the Taiwanese people.

plato

i would’ve thought if i keep taking class, i would improve. but that is not the case. i found out that i keep using simple sentence struture, keep making minor mistakes, like tense/the/a/an/-s keep using simple vocabulary.

how to improve

consitency is the key to success. but what is better is to constitent do something and keep improving on the way.

  1. reading for joy discuss it in class

  2. 4-5 daily news and discussion

  3. listening youtube for joy

  4. writing.

only doing it for joy will go to long term memory
